Teddybears Childcare Centre (TBCCC) Philosophy is guided by “Belonging, Being & Becoming” – The Early Years Learning Framework, and the National Quality Framework. This philosophy, along with the aims of TBCCC, is achieved by following the TBCCC Policies and Procedures.
At TBCCC, we strive to build a trusting relationship with children and their families that will allow u to create opportunities for children, families and educators to share their ideas, knowledge, culture, language and traditions with the centre through open communication, honest feedback and involvement in the centre. We believe as Vygotsky’s Socio – cultural Theory suggests that parents, caregivers, peers, and the culture at large are responsible for the development of higher order functions.
We place confidence in what Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences suggests that children excel in more than one of these nine intelligences. He considers children and adults to be individuals who all have skills and areas that they enjoy and be skilful at and that these fit into our major intelligence. We trust that children will develop in their own time and in their own way as a unique individual and that their individuality should be valued, supported, protected, and cared for in an environment that is peaceful, loving and meets all the children’s needs.
We aim to provide a stimulating environment, socially inclusive community and an emergent curriculum that promotes holistic development and high expectations for children across all areas of development through intentional teaching and spontaneous learning.
